| Hello. Just a heads up that I will no longer be posting on
xanga. If you have an interest in what I'm up to, take a stab a
luck and periodically try
http://spacedust.dyndns.org/blog/
By no means complete (merely functional), the site's a work in (slow)
progress. It will come and go as I don't leave my notebook on all
the time, but who knows? You might just get lucky.

| Nothing has been happening lately, hense no posting; that is, nothing particularly unique, just the usual working, working, and trying free drinks. (Today I had a virgin margarita; very interesting!) But, tonight I poked my head above my monetarily semi-productive rut.
For those of you that actually want to know what I enjoy most, what makes me tick, the code that follows is my most recent accomplishment; took me just over three minutes to conceive of and hack out. -----------------
#!/usr/bin/env python
import os
plsdir = '/home/peter/mp3s/playlists' listfile = '/home/peter/.fluxbox/playlists'
lf = open(listfile, "w") for root, dirs, files in os.walk(plsdir): for f in files: lf.write( "[exec] (%s) {xmms '%s/%s'}\n" % (f, plsdir, f) )
-----------------
What is it? In short, it generates a dynamic fluxbox-menu include that lets me launch Shoutcast playlists directly from my menu.
More simply, it makes something like this:

Sorry if that's not what you meant when you asked for updates, but to me that's important. (That and the fact that I was able to remove "Reading UPS Zipcodes" from my 'expertise' section) Have a great week all!

| And life goes on.
For the past few months since leaving DeVry I have been working for my
Dad, and it was a fine job, but I knew it cease to be viable once
school started. So, on recommendation of a number of friends, I
began contacting a number of restaraunts looking for something that
would be flexible around class schedules.
Fast forward to the present, and you will find a new host at Applebee's
in Modesto. It's a simple job, really; greet the guests, confirm
the party count, sit them down, introduce the current special, and
leave them to the servers until further notice.
All in all, that little statement should bring most people up to date on my present situation; I'm now hosting at Applebee's.
Huzzah!

| A apologize to those that, for whatever reason, have a genuine interest
in my thoughts. My lack of posting is not a revolt,
discrimination, or any other purposed inactivity. To be honest, I
simply forgot.
To mark my reentry, I will attempt to draw your attention to something of exceeding importance to me and to all who hear:Reality.

| 4:36AM -
Two days minus six-hours ago I was the patient in a
wisdom teeth extraction. It went well, all round, but I have not
completely escaped the typical aftermath. (Which explains why I'm
on at 4:40AM) I can't open my mouth more than half-an-inch,
my throat feels 50% constricted, and when I lie flat the blood pressure
gives me a throbbing headache.
My spirits are rising, however, because after waking
every hour this night and having to coach myself back to sleep,
ignoring the growing discomfort, I have finally concluded that two
Vicodin will not be as big a detrement to my health as will lack of
sleep and constant motion. Therefore, I have just consumed some
yogurt and the recommended dosage, and am looking forward to its
effects.
In the meantime, my usual distractions involve
wiggling my toes, rubbing my head, and humming the "Wallace and
Grommit" theme in fast forward.
I haven't been able to concentrate since the surgery, so most of my
time has been spent just lying here or watching DVD's. I'm really
tired of DVD's. (And it seems that the basis for my low opinion
of television still holds, as it has provided little benefit.)
In other news, I have completed my final finals at
DeVry, thank heavens. In an attempt to stir up envy among my
readers, my longest final required 35 minutes, the second 20 minutes,
and the third 11 minutes.... I told you it's boring there.
I'm looking forward to refocusing my education and
locating a new job. I am also looking forward to staying at home;
the food is much better, and the company is _much_ better.
Blargh, I'm having trouble focusing at present, and
the Vicodin hasn't even set in yet. Perhaps I should leave while
I'm still coherent. (Yes, I realize that may not be _your_ most entertaining option, but it seems to be my wisest.)
To all, enjoy this new week!
Ephesians 5:15-17
Therefore, be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but
as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
